Welcome to Bass Club

Now in its 25th year, Bass Club provides students the specialist tuition they need to reach and go beyond their ambitions. Courses are tailored to the individual's needs and the atmosphere is uniquely supportive.

Whether you are an advanced player taking professional auditions or a young player going on your first specialist course, Bass Club provides a wonderful opportunity to develop your skills and playing. The repertoire, teaching and communication styles have been developed over may years.

Bass Club's musical staff are all experienced, specialist bass teachers. On each course there is also a full programme of free time activities.

Bass Club holds four courses each year for young Double Bass players (2012 dates):

February: Spring Basses (Fri 17th - Sun 19th Feb, Norfolk)

June: Bass Club Spain (Mon 25th - Fri 29th June, Salamanca)

August: Summer School (Sun 26th Aug - Sat 1st Sept, Surrey)

December: Christmas Basses (dates to be confirmed, Norfolk)

Friday 17th - Sunday 19th February 2012

The Norfolk courses are ideal for young bassists to join the Bass Club activities for the first time.

On the February Spring Basses course we aim to encourage first timers as a priority and we do invite players in as flexible a way as possible.

Sometimes it is possible for parents of our youngest students to stay nearby and help with some aspects of the course.

The main part of the course will concentrate on techniques and students will participate in carefully planned group work.

There will be concerts and masterclasses where students are encouraged to play within a very comfortable and supportive environment.

Free time will include cooking, games and enjoying visits to the wonderful countryside around. The Walsingham snowdrop walk is popular along with the various beach walks.

The February course will also include an invited quartet where promising students will have excellent opportunities to develop their playing within chamber music.
